CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

The dentist works one the area of only a few square millimeters. In order to significantly enlarge the treatment area – up to 25 times, he must use an operating microscope. It allows you to precisely locate the affected tissue, i.e. the cause of inflammation that causes pain. Learn more about treatment under the microscope at Dental Fraternity.
Tooth treatment under the microscope is one of the most developed dental specialties. The microscope is an invaluable device because it allows for the most thorough cleaning of the tooth roots from bacteria. The magnification provided by the microscope enables very precise work in a small treatment area, e.g. 1mm. Thanks to this, doctor can clearly see the entrance to the tooth chamber, its root canals and their branches.

BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION

Highest precision in removing infected tissue; high work comfort for the doctor

Koferdam

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT UNDER A MICROSCOPE, IN A COFFERDAM AND WITH INFILTRATION ANESTHESIA

Root canal treatment consists in removing the dental pulp, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the canals, and then carefully filling them. The microscope magnifies the treatment field by 25 times, allowing all these operations to be performed with precision.
It should be added that there are indications for root canal treatment under the microscope: In case of channels with a narrow cross-section and winding structure, having numerous branches, or in case of tooth damage.

BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION

safety; precision

TREATMENT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

Microscopes are often used not only in root canal treatment. They are also used during conservative treatment. Thanks to the high approximation, dentist is able to accurately fill the cavity – even the microscale one, which greatly enhances the aesthetics. In addition, we achieve exceptional tightness of the filling.

BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION

Precision; aesthetics; possible treatment of teeth with unusual anatomical structure

FAQ

WHAT ARE THE PRICES OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED SERVICES?

The price of root canal treatment under the microscope depends on the number of canals, ranging from 800 PLN to 1700 PLN for primary treatment. However, if the tooth needs to be treated again (reendo), the cost increases by 150-250 PLN. In some cases, after the root canal treatment a composite reconstruction of the tooth crown is necessary, and it costs 350 - 450 PLN. In addition, a fiberglass inlay ( 600 PLN / tooth) or a prosthetic crown ( 1500 - 3000 PLN / tooth) may be necessary.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROOT CANAL TREATMENT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE AND THE ONE PERFORMED MANUALLY?

The main difference between the manual method and root canal treatment under the microscope is the visibility of all the canals and their structure. In traditional treatment, the doctor plans the procedure based on X-rays and relies on what he can see through a magnifying glass.

IS IT BETTER TO REMOVE A TOOTH OR PERFORM A ROOT CANAL TREARTMENT?

We can always remove a tooth, but then it is necessary to consider how to replace the missing one in order to avoid e.g. leaning of the remaining teeth in the future, which in the long run results in their loss. Root canal treatment under the microscope gives us a chance to preserve our tooth and save money. Before you make a decision, consult it with our endodontist/surgeon.

IS ROOT CANAL TREATMENT SAFE?

Each medical procedure is associated with various types of complications, and root canal treatment is always conditional treatment. However, by choosing an experienced endodontist who performs treatment under an operating microscope and using a cofferdam, we are able to minimize the risk of possible complications and significantly affect the prognosis and maintenance of the tooth.

HOW LONG DOES THE ROOT CANAL TREATMENT LAST?

The duration of root canal treatment depends on many factors, i.e. the structure of the tooth roots, curvature of the canals or even the condition of the patient's temporomandibular joints. . Duration is about 1,5 - 2 hours. However, it should be noted that in some cases it will be necessary to have more visits or to divide them into shorter treatment sessions.

IS THE FILLING OF A TOOTH AFTER ROOT CANAL TREATMENT EXTRA PAID?

If it is necessary to rebuild a tooth after endodontic treatment under a microscope, additional possible cost of supplementing the canals with special fiberglass inlay or making a prosthetic crown (if the tooth is broken, for example) should be taken into account. In case of conservative treatment under the microscope, we do not bear additional costs.

HOW ROOT CANAL TREATMENT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE LOOK LIKE?

Root canal treatment is preceded by an X-ray of the tooth and a thorough diagnosis - determining the number of canals, the degree of tooth damage, the size of the periapical lesion, the presence of any cysts and bone lesions. Microscope treatment involves magnifying the image of the treated tooth from 6 to 25 times using a high-end operating microscope. Tooth crown cleaning - the tooth is being cleaned of caries bacteria, and the walls of the tooth are developed in a way that allows easy access to all root canals. Cleaning of infected canals - the infected pulp is being removed from all canals. Chemical disinfection is then performed to clean the canals of residual bacteria that have not been removed mechanically. Filling the cleared canals - empty canals in the roots are filled with a special preparation that provides a tight barrier against the re-infiltration of bacteria.

IS ROOT CANAL TREATMENT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE A GUARANTEE TO KEEP THE TOOTH?

A tooth after root canal treatment is more prone to fracture and damage because it is a dead tooth. For greater safety and guarantee of retention, the tooth should be properly restored, for example, by replenishing it with a fiberglass inlay and making an endodontic crown / prosthetic crown.

WHAT TECHNOLOGIES ARE USED DURING ROOT CANAL TREATMENT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE?

Microscopes are used in conservative dentistry, prosthetics, surgery, but most of all in endodontics.
