CROSS-SECTIONAL DENTAL DIAGNOSTICS IN DENTAL FRATERNITY
X-ray diagnostics is extremely important in many areas of dental treatment. Orthodontics, implantology, tooth extractions and treatment require a detailed description, which is possible thanks to professional diagnostic tools. At Dental Fraternity, single teeth, their arches, craniofacial bones, and bone tissues of the maxilla and mandible are examined.
X-RAY DIAGNOSTICS
X-ray diagnostics accompanies patients at many stages of dental treatment. At the beginning of the process, it allows to assess the state of oral health and define next steps of treatment. During the process it helps to verify the progress and, most importantly, accurately perform any treatment. Radiological diagnostics is also necessary after treatment – during follow-up visits. Explore the types of diagnostic services at Dental Fraternity.
PERIAPICAL X-RAY
A radiograph of the tooth is the most popular diagnostic method. It is performed quickly and painlessly for the patient. It presents a number of details invisible to the naked eye during a dental examination. It shows tooth structure, tooth canals and their number, as well as the state of the radicular pulp. It is helpful in the treatment of many diseases, as well as for determining the level of tooth development during its growth. It can be made at a selected angle to view the tooth from any side.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
specific; painless; fast course of the examination
3D COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CBCT)
Computed tomography of the tooth allows you to recreate its exact, three-dimensional image. It is helpful in many cases. For example, it allows the doctor to assess bone conditions and make detailed measurements in terms of choosing the right implant and the direction in which it should be implanted.
Thanks to the CT images, it is possible to assess the effects of root canal treatment and to see possible inflammation. Tomography is also used when planning surgical procedures near the nerves and maxillary sinuses.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
minimal invasiveness; very detailed; versatile in treatment
CEPHALOMETRY
Cephalometry is used primarily in orthodontics. The cephalometric radiograph shows the facial part of the skull with the teeth. It shows the bone structures and the arrangement of the upper and lower teeth. They are used in the diagnosis of malocclusion, planning orthodontic treatment, during the treatment and after its completion.
Thanks to this photo, doctor can determine what is the cause of the malocclusion and calculate the necessary values to work out a treatment plan.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
minimal invasiveness; no preparation required; fast examination; painless
INTRAORALSCANNING
An intraoral scanner is a digital device for making a virtual electronic image of the oral cavity. It replaces the traditional impression made with plastic prosthetic masses. Its virtual equivalent gives patients a much greater sense of comfort.
Unlike other methods, it allows you to create a digital impression of the oral cavity in a real time. The digital impression is used to make precise restorations in the CAD/CAM technique: crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays. Immediately after the patient’s oral cavity is scanned and the image is obtained, it is sent to a specialist prosthetic facility.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
high sense of patient comfort; elimination of the gag reflex; accurate representation of the patient's mouth
PANORAMIC X-RAY
Pantomogram, also called a panoramic X-ray, shows the cross-sectional condition of the entire dentition, temporomandibular joints and sinuses. It allows to detect pathological changes and defects in the structure of the teeth, their relative position and, for example, to assess the bone level. The photo is taken extraorally and is non-invasive. Panoramic examination is common due to the range of information it provides. They are used both before the removal of teeth, e.g. wisdom teeth, in implantology and before orthodontic and even conservative treatment.

FAQ
WHAT IS THE COST OF AN INDIVIDUAL DIAGNOSTIC X-RAY?
Panoramic X-ray: 120zł
Cephalometry: 120zł
Partial tomography: 180zł
Tomography of the maxilla and mandible: 350zł
Periapical X-ray taken during the visit: 40zł
DO YOU NEED DOCTOR'S REFERRAL TO TAKE AN X-RAY?
To perform the X-ray diagnostics necessary for treatment elsewhere, you should present a referral from the referring physician. If it is necessary to take an X-ray during the visit in our facilities, it is taken straight away at doctor's request.
WHAT RADIOGRAPH SHOULD BE TAKEN BEFORE SURGERY?
Before planned surgical procedure you should perform computed tomography, which shows the cross-section of the oral cavity in different planes. Thanks to it, doctor can plan the treatment precisely.
HOW LONG IS THE X-RAY VALID?
If the patient does not undergo orthodontic treatment, tooth extraction or implantation, the X-ray is valid for about 2 years.
IS PERFORMING A RADIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSTICS PAINFUL?
Performing X-ray diagnostics is completely painless and takes only a few minutes.
