PROSTHETIC RESTORATIONS
Crowns, veneers and bridges are prosthetic solutions that not only improve the aesthetics of the smile, but also restore the function of proper food chewing. It affects the entire body.
Thanks to dentures and implants, patients can once again fully enjoy everyday life without thinking about the most basic activities.
A healthy and full smile adds self-confidence on a professional and private level. It improves well-being and life comfort.
Modern methods of treatment make it possible to perform prosthetic reconstruction on one’s own teeth or implants. Implantoprosthetic treatment may concern single or multiple missing teeth. The type of restoration is adapted to the needs, expectations and anatomical conditions of the patient’s oral cavity. Before starting prosthetic treatment, a smile simulation is performed (a prototype of the future smile in the form of a temporary overlay), in which the patient functions for several days. This solution makes it possible to evaluate the proposed smile design in terms of aesthetics and functionality.
Doctors dealing with prosthetic treatment perform such procedures as: digital smile design, wax-up smile simulation, teeth whitening, veneers, crowns on implants and natural teeth, bridges on implants and natural teeth, functional and aesthetic bonding.
RESTORATIONS ON IMPLANTS: CROWNS, BRIDGES, DENTURES
If a tooth is lost, we should decide to rebuild it as soon as possible. We have various methods of replacing missing teeth at our disposal, but the choice of the most effective one in our case is decided by the dentist based on the examination and assessment of the teeth condition.
Most often, in the case of the loss of a single tooth or several adjacent teeth, we offer a single crown or bridge on implants. The advantage of this solution is the lack of a removable denture and avoiding the need to grind adjacent healthy teeth.
For people struggling with the problem of a large or complete loss of teeth, we most often offer a dentures on implants. If the anatomical conditions are sufficient, also in this case we can offer the patient a bridge set on four or six implants, a solution without a removable denture.
However, if the anatomical conditions are not sufficient, or if the patient’s needs are different, we can offer a removable dentures stabilized on two, three or four implants – removable dentures connected to fixed restorations with sliders, clasps, bolts or telescopic crowns.
All the proposed solutions are aesthetically pleasing and significantly improve the comfort of our patients’ lives.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
comfort comparable to natural teeth; stability of the solution; natural and aesthetic appearance; no need to grind healthy adjacent teeth; no need to use denture adhesives
RESTORATIONS ON OWN TEETH: VENEERS, CROWNS, PROSTHETIC BRIDGES, INLAY, ONLAY, OVERLAY, INSERTS
The range of prosthetic services concerning own teeth is very wide. Doctor in consultation with the patient decides on the choice of possible solutions. Prosthetic treatment allows for the restoration of lost teeth or damaged tooth structures. This allows for obtaining close to natural occlusal conditions and prevents the deepening of changes or eliminates their consequences. Even with a single tooth.
These treatments are aimed at restoring the function and aesthetics of the dentition. Lost structures can be rebuilt using: crowns, veneers, crown-root inlays, bridges, onlays and others. Prosthetic treatment is also used in the treatment of diseases of the temporomandibular joints.
CERAMIC VENEERS
These are thin ceramic plates that are glued to the front surface of the tooth. Indications for use: unsightly gaps between front teeth, teeth discoloration that is difficult to whiten, tooth shape that is unacceptable to the patient, uneven tooth alignment, enamel fracture, edge and angle defects, underdevelopment of enamel and dentin.
COMPOSITE VENEERS
They are an alternative to porcelain ones. They are much cheaper, but also less durable and prone to discoloration. Ideal for small dental defects because it preserves more of the natural tooth structure.
CROWN-ROOT INLAYS
A tooth fractured or damaged by caries can often be restored with a crown-root inlay. The inlays can be used in any tooth that has been properly endodontically treated. A crown-root inlay is most often a foundation for a crown or as a reinforcement of a tooth, which will serve as a bridge pillar in the future.
PROSTHETIC CROWNS
If the tooth is damaged to the extent that a standard composite reconstruction is impossible, a prosthetic crown should be made. It is a permanently cemented restoration. The crown can be made on a metal or zirconium oxide foundation. The latter is a more aesthetic solution, because there is no risk of its exposure. Indications for the use of prosthetic crowns: they restore a decayed tooth or a tooth after trauma, improve tooth shape, size and color, after root canal treatment, after cementing a crown-root inlay.
DENTAL BRIDGES
Bridges are dental restorations used for single or multiple missing teeth. They have a span, or missing tooth(s), and two pillars – the teeth adjacent to the gap. Dental bridges fill from 1-3 tooth gaps.
The bridge is suspended on the patient’s own pillar teeth and restores the missing teeth both aesthetically and functionally. The most popular bridges are those made of porcelain on zirconium oxide or on metal. PMMA bridges are also used. They are temporary restorations (for several months) used when we need to postpone the construction of the final bridge for various reasons. The indication is missing teeth, provided that properly located pillar teeth are present.
INLAY, ONLAY AND OVERLAY
are three different types of filling teeth cavities. What they have in common is that they are used to replace tooth cavity (caused for example by decay), and they are all fillings made in a prosthetic laboratory.
They are usually made of composite or porcelain, at the special request of the dentist.
RELAXATION SPLINT
Prosthetics is a branch of dentistry that deals not only with treating patients with missing teeth. It also treats temporomandibular joint disorders and premature bite contacts.
If the patient is qualified for prosthetic treatment after an analysis of the occlusal conditions, a relaxation splint is most often made for him.
The relaxation splint covers the entire upper dental arch, is made of clear acrylic material, usually soft around the gums, and hard on the chewing surface. Treatment consists of placing a splint on the teeth overnight and it lasts 6 – 18 months. The relaxation splint will relax your muscles, protect your joints and keep your teeth from abrasion.
BRUXISM TREATMENT
Bruxism is the involuntary teeth clenching or grinding, causing gradual tooth abrasion or loosening, resulting in joint damage and muscle hypertrophy. Such pains intensify after a night’s rest.
A relaxation splint is used to treat bruxism. Severe cases of bruxism, are treated with botulinum toxin, which is injected into the masseter muscle to cause paralysis and prevent the muscle contractions and jaw clenching.
BONDING
Bonding is a non-invasive method of aesthetic tooth restoration. We use composite resins to make it possible to get rid of unsightly discoloration, brighten the color of teeth, replenish abrasions, chippings, and even close diastemas. The effect is achieved immediately, but it is temporary (bonding durability is estimated at 3-5 years). Before bonding, the teeth must be cleaned of decay and the periodontium must be healthy. The procedure is completely painless. A more durable and natural-looking alternative to bonding are porcelain veneers.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
Reduction of tooth damage: cracks, chippings, splinters; elimination of discoloration; improvement and unification of tooth color; elimination of curvatures and irregularities; alignment of shorter teeth with longer teeth; giving teeth the desired and aesthetic shape; elimination of diastema
REMOVABLE DENTURES
In case of multiple teeth loss or toothlessness, until recently the most common solution was a denture, or so-called artificial teeth. Removable prosthetic restorations are those that patient can put in and take out independently.
Due to the material of manufacture, they can be divided into acrylic, acron, nylon and skeletal prostheses.
When it comes to the construction of removable dentures, there are complete and partial restorations. The latter supplement the lack of one or more teeth on one or both sides of the dental arch in the maxilla or mandible.
Complete ones, on the other hand, are a full restoration of all teeth. With dentures, you can get rid of many of the problems caused by missing teeth, but if they do not fit well or are not cared for properly, they can lead to a number of new problems. Fortunately, modern medicine makes it possible to replace uncomfortable, unsightly and non-functional dentures with implants.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION:
relatively low price; fast realizing time
DIGITAL SMILE SIMULATION
The visualization of the smile is created in a specialized program, which, based on the photos taken by the doctor, gives the opportunity to “impose” virtual crowns on one’s own teeth.
The patient has the opportunity to participate in the design of the future smile (he can propose the shape, color, length) and accept a satisfactory result.
After the graphic simulation, the doctor transfers the designed smile to the patient’s teeth.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
Direct patient influence on the appearance of the new smile; non-invasive method; no impressions or intraoral scans taken
SMILE SIMULATION IN THE FORM OF MOCK-UP
(TEMPORARY CROWNS PLACED ON THE PATIENT'S TEETH)
Using a scanner, the doctor records the occlusal conditions, which are then sent to the prosthetic laboratory. The prosthetic technician analyzes the patient’s situation with the attending physician and, using specialized equipment, designs the functionally and aesthetically “ideal” shape of the new teeth. Thanks to this method, doctor has the opportunity to check the function of the bite, and the patient can “try on” the final effect.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
visualization of the final result already on the second visit; trying out the function of the "new" dentition; non-invasive method; quick, visible change; perfect planning - guarantee of the target quality; without taking impressions
VENEERS WITHOUT GRINDING
Veneers are thin “flakes” with very high mechanical strength. They bring an amazing aesthetic effect! With the help of veneers, it is possible to lighten a tooth, give it a beautiful shape and color, lengthen it, widen it, restore abrasions or eliminate gaps between the teeth. Non-prep veneers are veneers that do not require enamel preparation (in other words, grinding). Each living tooth with a non-prep veneer changes its appearance, shape and color, while keeping the structure of the enamel tissue intact. Ultra-thin veneers, compared to traditional veneers, do not require prior preparation of the tooth.
Once the patient approves the smile design, it only takes two visits two weeks apart to enjoy the smile of your dreams. In addition, by choosing porcelain veneers, we can achieve an extremely natural effect, because porcelain, due to its translucency, is the best imitation of natural tooth enamel. The durability of porcelain veneers is estimated at 15-20 years.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION
high aesthetic value; possibilities of shaping and correcting the appearance of teeth; high durability

HOW DOES A PORCELAIN CROWN ON A ZIRCONIA BASE DIFFER FROM A CROWN ON A METAL BASE?
Porcelain crowns on zirconium oxide base provide better aesthetics than crowns on metal base, thanks to the elimination of gray foundation. They are also characterized by high mechanical strength, biocompatibility with the tissues of the oral cavity, and are hypoallergenic. A crown on a metal base is not dedicated to allergy sufferers, and its use is associated with worse aesthetics. For this reason, crowns on a metal base are not used in the "aesthetic section", that means from five to five.
DO PORCELAIN CROWNS TURN DARK?
Porcelain is a physically and chemically resistant, low-absorbent material. It is more durable than enamel, yet aesthetically and optically similar to natural tooth tissue. This makes it impossible to change the color of the porcelain veneer/crown in the oral cavity.
CAN PORCELAIN CROWNS BE WHITENED?
It is impossible to change the color of a porcelain restoration once it is cemented in the patient's mouth. If the patient is not satisfied with the current color of his teeth, the entire treatment process begins with whitening his own teeth. The color of the new prosthetic restoration is then matched to the stabilized color of the teeth after whitening.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF PORCELAIN CROWNS?
All-ceramic restorations should be cared for as if they were your own teeth. They should be brushed with a toothbrush and flossed at least twice a day. The mouth should be rinsed with appropriate mouth washes. In order to enjoy a beautiful and healthy smile for years to come, it is important to remember about regular visits to the dental hygienist and check-ups with the attending physician every 6 months.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A CROWN ON AN IMPLANT?
From the moment of implant placement to the completion of the entire process, it may take from 4 to 7 months - depending on the implantation area and the patient's anatomical conditions. For the time of integration of the implants with the bone, aesthetic temporary solutions can be used.
ARE VENEERS PLACED ON ALL TEETH?
Veneers can be placed on all teeth or only on those that need correction of: shade, shape, size, length. Usually, an even number of veneers is proposed (especially in the “aesthetic section”) to make the effect as natural as possible.
WHAT DOES PROTHETICS DEAL WITH?
Prosthetics is a branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of malocclusion (both congenital and acquired), anodontia, and masticatory system diseases. Its purpose is to replace missing teeth, restore lost teeth, and improve aesthetics of the dentition. In modern prosthodontics, removable dentures are most often abandoned in favor of comfortable and aesthetically pleasing fixed solutions.
HOW DOES PREPARATION FOR PROSTHETIC TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?
Prosthetic treatment is usually (although not always) one of the last stages of planned comprehensive dental treatment. Before proceeding to the final stage, it is necessary to perform a control X-ray examination (panoramic X-ray or computed tomography), complete caries or pulp treatment (root canal treatment), remove teeth that are not eligible for treatment, remove calculus deposits and plaque, introduce appropriate hygiene habits. It is often necessary to perform additional surgical procedures (excision of the overgrown mucosa, alignment of the alveolar bone, thickening of the gums in the area of prosthetic pillars, implantation), as well as orthodontic treatment.
HOW DOES QUALIFICATION FOR PROSTHETIC TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?
Before starting prosthetic treatment, during the consultation visit, a detailed history is taken, a dental examination is performed and the patient's expectations are discussed. At the same visit, all necessary radiographs are taken, as well as extra-oral and intra-oral images. To prepare diagnostic models, an impression or intraoral scan is also taken. Based on the information obtained at the consultation visit, we prepare a comprehensive treatment plan and cost estimate.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS OF PROSTHETIC TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?
Based on the information obtained at the consultation visit, we prepare a comprehensive treatment plan and cost estimate. We start planning prosthetic treatment with a computer analysis of the smile (the so-called Digital Smile Design), a wax work plan (Wax Up) and a temporary restoration (Mock Up).
Thanks to this, patient is able to assess shape and length of the teeth, as well as color of the proposed solution. After completing all the necessary steps (hygienization, conservative treatment, surgical treatment, etc.), we can proceed to the final stage. After approving the work plan and color selection, we make the target restorations.
PROSTHETICS - WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A METHOD OF RESTORING A SMILE?
Prosthetic treatment allows for the restoration of lost teeth or damaged tooth structures. This allows for obtaining close to natural occlusal conditions and prevents the deepening of changes that occur as a result of missing even a single tooth or eliminates their consequences.
These treatments are aimed at restoring the function and aesthetics of the dentition. Lost structures can be restored using: crowns, veneers, crown-root inlays, implant-based restorations, bridges (fixed restorations), dentures (removable restorations) or combined dentures (removable dentures connected to fixed restorations by sliders, clasps, bolts or telescopic crowns). During the consultation visit, the attending physician presents an individual treatment plan and possible solutions.
Together with the doctor, patient chooses the best prosthetic treatment option possible in his specific clinical case.
HOW DOES CHECK-UP VISITS AND TEETH CARE AFTER PROSTHETIC TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?
Regardless of what prosthetic restorations the patient decides on, he must remember about proper hygiene.
