PATIENTS WHO HAVE BENEFITED FROM MODERN PROSTHETIC SOLUTIONS

Every person wearing dentures surely knows the feeling of not being able to eat what they like. They may even feel uncomfortable smiling or speaking in public due to the fear of their dentures falling out. Discover the implant-prosthetic procedures offered at Dental Fraternity that will provide you with comfort and boost your confidence.

WHAT INSTEAD OF DENTURES?

In case of multiple teeth loss or toothlessness, the most common solution are dentures, or so-called artificial teeth. Dentures can eliminate many problems caused by tooth loss. However, if they are not properly fitted or not adequately cared for, they can lead to a range of new problems.
Fortunately, modern medicine allows for the replacement of uncomfortable and non-functional dentures, thanks to dental implants.
Dental implants are an excellent solution for toothless patients. By implanting 2 to 6 dental implants, the stability and retention of the denture can be significantly improved.
The mobility of dentures, especially lower dentures, is a significant problem for many patients. Attachments such as ball anchors, locators, or more complex structures like bars can be connected to the implanted implants. These solutions greatly enhance our patients life quality. They enable natural conversations, smiles, and, above all, restore the chewing function, allowing our patients to eat freely without hesitation or concerns.

Proteza całkowita

FULL DENTURE

An acrylic denture is a removable prosthetic restoration that replaces missing teeth. A full denture consists of an acrylic base that fills in the lost bone tissue and acrylic teeth that replace the missing natural teeth. In partial acrylic dentures, there are also clasps made of flexible wire that help hold the denture in place in the oral cavity.

BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION

Relatively low cost; accessibility and speed of the solution.

Proteza na implantach

FULL DENTURE ON DOLDER BAR

The Dolder bar is used in the treatment of complete anodontia and is a prosthetic component that allows anchoring of the full denture using previously inserted implants.
It is an example of a removable denture securely attached to a permanently anchored titanium bar. After the integration of implants with the bone and their exposure, a Dolder bar is attached to them, and in the case of a complete denture, special snap-on attachments are placed. This allows for a very comfortable denture stability.

BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION

solution cheaper than "All on 4"; allows for the reconstruction of the entire arch in patients with significant bone deficiencies in the posterior regions without the need for bone grafting.

ALL ON 4

ALL ON 4 is a technique for restoring teeth in one day, usually without additional procedures like bone regeneration. On the day of the procedure, 4 or 6 implants are placed in patients maxilla and/or mandible. On the day of the procedure, patient leaves the clinic with full teeth (a temporary prosthetic bridge screwed to the implants). After 6 months, the temporary bridge is replaced with a permanent bridge.

BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION

full smile in one day; impressive aesthetic effect

DENTURE ON LOCATORS

A removable solution designed for individuals who have few or no teeth in the maxilla or mandible. It is an alternative to conventional unsupported dentures. A removable full or partial denture is attached to two or more implants using anchoring elements. These elements hold the denture securely in place but also allow for easy removal. Dental implants prevent facial sagging and also eliminate the need for wearing a removable denture.

BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION

solution cheaper than "All on 4"; provides comfort of eating and functioning; stable denture retention.

FAQ

WHAT ARE THE PRICES OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED SERVICES?

Acrylic denture from 2500 PLN.
Full denture on Dolder bar from 25000 PLN.
"All on 4" upper/lower jaw from 32 000 PLN for the surgical part and from 20 000 PLN for the prosthetic part.
Denture on locators from 17 000 PLN.

WHAT’S THE ALTERNATIVE TO DENTURES?

This solution involves the use of dental implants and is designed for individuals who are missing teeth. If teeth need to be extracted or a patient no longer wants to live without teeth, the All-on-4 treatment concept can be a suitable solution. Only four dental implants are needed to rebuild all missing teeth using the All-on-4® treatment concept.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET NEW TEETH WITH “ALL-ON-4” METHOD?

With the All-on-4 solution, our patients leave with a beautiful new smile on the day of the procedure. Although it is a temporary bridge, it looks very aesthetically pleasing and allows for normal functioning as with the final tooth restoration. After six months from implant placement, the temporary bridge is replaced with the final bridge. If a patient opts for the non-implant option, the entire process takes a few weeks.

WHAT ARE THE DISADVANTAGES OF REGULAR DENTURES?

1. Loss of bone over long-term use of the denture (the denture rests on the gums, causing pressure on the bone, which gradually leads to bone resorption).
2. In the case of partial dentures, there may appear loosening of the abutment teeth (the denture is held in place by clasps that encircle the teeth) and tooth abrasion (the clasp retains the denture through friction).
3. Inferior retention compared to other types of dentures and impaired taste sensation (in the case of upper dentures, the acrylic covers the palate, where taste buds are also located).
4. Possible allergic reactions to acrylic (common cases).
5. Difficulty in adapting to wearing such dentures - the need for a larger coverage of the denture base to achieve retention without using special denture adhesives, which can impede speech and other activities in the initial phase of wearing the denture.
6. Potential buildup of residue on the denture (acrylic is porous), which can contribute to the development of oral fungal infections.

I AM 87 YEARS OLD. ISN'T IT TOO LATE FOR IMPLANTS?

Age is not a contraindication for implant placement. Any patient, who wishes to have their dentition restored this way, can have dental implants placed. The decision for implantation is always made by an implantologist who first gathers a detailed medical history from the patient.

WILL I HAVE A PROBLEM SPEAKING AFTER SWITCHING ACRYLIC DENTURES TO A FIXED SOLUTION?

It certainly takes time to adjust to the new conditions in the oral cavity. Usually, there are no major issues with adapting to the new restoration, although some patients may experience a feeling of their tongue not fitting properly in the oral cavity or report cheek biting. Fortunately, this does not pose any problem. Thanks to our specialists (physiotherapist and speech therapist), these issues can be quickly addressed, and patients can fully enjoy their beautiful new smile.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF SUCH TEETH?

Dentures should be cared for just as much as your own teeth. They should be brushed and rinsed after every meal. It is important not to sleep with the denture in the oral cavity. A clean denture should be stored in a dry place during sleep (without soaking!). Regular visits to a dental hygienist are also important to ensure that the tooth restorations and implants serve you for years to come.
